What are the responsibilities and job description for the OSHA-10 Instructor R.I.S.E. Program position at ZIMMERS ACADEMY?
HOURS PER DAY: 3
DAYS PER YEAR: 36 days (3 sessions, 12 days each)
REQUIREMENTS/QUALIFICATIONS:
- Bachelor’s Degree or a retiree from the Trades familiar with the Construction OSHA-10 test
- Ability to work with current computer technology and online software
- Flexible availability in scheduling daytime classes for students interested in the Trades
- Background teaching with a Union trade school preferred but not required
- Experience and interest in working with educationally disadvantaged out-of-school youth
- Ability to work with a wide range of clients
- Ability to follow written and oral directions with minimum supervision
SPECIFIC RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Support the mission, vision, goals, and instructional focus of District 186 and the RISE program
- Ability to work in a team-driven environment
- Establish and maintain a classroom climate that is conducive to learning
- Plan, implement, and teach activities to assist students in completing the Construction OSHA-10 utilizing online software programming.
- Use a variety of methods to monitor student learning and assess student progress
- Have materials and supplies available
- Maintain accurate, complete, and correct records as required
- Communicate effectively with students and RISE staff
- Cooperate in carrying out school district rules and regulations
- Be punctual and regular in attendance
- Ability to be flexible and be willing to make adjustments as needed in an ever-changing environment
- Perform other duties as assigned
