Job Description
Zimmerman Metals, Inc. seeks a Roll Form Machine Assembler. The person hired for this position will primarily assemble machines for the metal roofing industry. This will include duties such as drilling & tapping holes, reading prints and assembling machined parts, installing drive chains and components, wiring electrical components and assembling the hydraulic system of the machine. Other responsibilities may include welding, painting, basic machining, preparing parts for shipment and keeping inventory organized. As skills are mastered, this position would also include testing and adjusting machines before shipment.
Requirements
- Strong mechanical knowledge & ability (assemble parts and understand assemblies)
- Basic electrical knowledge
- Basic knowledge of technical/machine drawings & schematics
- Good work ethic, must be self-driven, have a good attitude and great attendance
- Willingness to do a variety of tasks
- Attention to detail and desire to produce quality product
- Provide your own tools for assembly
- Willingness to work overtime as needed
Other Desired Skills
- Knowledge of electrical circuits and components
- Basic machining skills (bridgeport)
- Ability to weld
- Past mechanical / maintenance experience
- Experience with band saws, grinders, polishing etc.
- Able to verify part dimensions with calipers, micrometer, etc.
