Role Description The Director of Finance is a full-time, on-site leadership role based in Milwaukee, WI, responsible for overseeing all financial operations of Zimmerman Architectural Studios, Inc. This position manages budgeting and forecasting processes, prepares and reviews financial statements, and leads monthly, quarterly, and annual financial reporting. The Director of Finance monitors cash flow, analyzes financial performance, and provides strategic insights to firm leadership to support business planning and growth. Daily responsibilities include supervising accounting activities, ensuring accurate and timely billing and collections, maintaining internal controls, and managing relationships with external auditors, banks, and other financial partners. The role also supports operational leaders with project financial analysis, develops and refines financial policies and procedures, and ensures compliance with relevant regulations and industry standards.

Qualifications
- Strong foundation in core finance disciplines, including Finance, Financial Planning, and Financial Reporting.
- Proficiency in preparing, reviewing, and interpreting Financial Statements, with attention to accuracy and compliance.
- Well-developed Analytical Skills to evaluate financial performance, identify trends, and support data-informed decision-making.
- Experience leading finance or accounting teams and collaborating with executive leadership in a professional services environment is preferred.
- Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Accounting, or a related field; CPA, CMA, or MBA is a plus.
- Proficiency with ERP/accounting systems and advanced Excel skills; familiarity with project-based or A/E industry financial tools is beneficial.
- Excellent communication, presentation, and stakeholder management skills, with the ability to explain financial concepts clearly to non-financial audiences.
- Demonstrated integrity, sound judgment, and the ability to manage multiple priorities in a deadline-driven environment.
