What are the responsibilities and job description for the M&R Coordinator position at ZIM Integrated Shipping Services?
Main Purpose of the Role:
In concert with company policy; monitor, track and report the following; duplicate coding on all invoices related to reefer, genset & dry container repairs; vet all estimates related to repair; maintains all reefer, genset & OOS inventories; handles all bookings and manifests for reefers; invoices all M&R fueling gensets; processes invoices for the Branch.
Main Tasks:
In concert with company policy; monitor, track and report the following; duplicate coding on all invoices related to reefer, genset & dry container repairs; vet all estimates related to repair; maintains all reefer, genset & OOS inventories; handles all bookings and manifests for reefers; invoices all M&R fueling gensets; processes invoices for the Branch.
Main Tasks:
- Ensure repair vendors submit damage estimates within 2 days of container arrival.
- Review submitted estimates to verify accuracy of repair codes and compliance with ZIM repair policies.
- Identify and apply any potential cost reductions or adjustments.
- Follow up with repair vendors to ensure they receive estimate approvals and expedite repair completion within 2 days plus designated task time.
- Review daily depot and terminal inventories to ensure systems are updated accurately with all damage related movements.
- Coordinate with the equipment team to reposition damaged containers to repair facilities.
- Review estimate for possible 3rd party claim.
- Gather documentation necessary for 3rd party claim.
- Notify liable party of 3rd party claim intent.
- Forward 3rd party claim documentation to head office.
- Vet and approve MNR related invoices.
- Resolve discrepancies by disputing or requesting revisions from vendors.
- Assist the trucking community by providing guidance on returning damaged equipment. Additionally, respond promptly to email inquiries regarding genset availability and requirements.
- Maintain cost savings initiatives.
- Reporting of the M&R cost savings.
- Provide backup support to the Cold Treatment Department and ensure all Cold Treatment reefers are successfully passed and cleared up by the USDA
- Academic education: Graduate from a technical school or two-year college or four years related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience.
- Must be mechanically inclined preferably with knowledge of containers and chassis.
- Must be customer service oriented, attentive to detail, well organized, capable of multi-tasking, and flexible to change priorities.
