Duties
- Assist clients with Activities of Daily Living (ADLs), including bathing, dressing, grooming, and mobility support
- Monitor patient health by checking vital signs and observing changes in condition; report findings accurately and promptly
- Administer medications following care plans and HIPAA regulations to ensure safety and compliance
- Prepare nutritious meals tailored to dietary needs and assist with meal planning and preparation
- Utilize specialized equipment such as Hoyer lifts or wheelchairs to ensure safe transfers and mobility support
- Maintain a clean, safe environment by performing light housekeeping tasks like cleaning, laundry, and organizing living spaces
- Support clients' emotional well-being through companionship, engaging activities, and social interaction
Skills
- Proven experience in home & community care or assisted living environments with a focus on senior care or long-term care
- Knowledge of patient observation techniques, dementia care, Alzheimer's care, memory care, and working with individuals with developmental disabilities or autism
- Certified in First Aid and CPR; familiar with medication administration and vital signs monitoring
- Ability to perform heavy lifting safely when required; experience with resident’s
(personalized care plans) is a plus - Strong understanding of HIPAA regulations to ensure client confidentiality at all times
- Excellent communication skills for effective collaboration with families, healthcare professionals, and team members
- Compassionate attitude combined with the ability to handle challenging situations calmly and professionally
