What You’ll Do

As our Compounding Pharmacist, you will play an important role in maintaining the quality, safety, and efficiency of our compounding services.

Responsibilities include:

• Review and verify compounded prescriptions for accuracy, appropriateness, and safety
• Oversee preparation of compounded medications in accordance with applicable USP standards, Texas State Board of Pharmacy regulations, and company policies
• Perform and supervise pharmaceutical calculations, formulation preparation, and compounding procedures
• Review master formulation records and compounding records
• Ensure appropriate documentation, labeling, beyond-use dating, storage, and quality-control procedures
• Counsel patients and communicate with prescribers regarding compounded medications
• Work closely with pharmacy technicians and compounding staff to maintain an efficient workflow
• Train, support, and provide professional oversight to compounding personnel
• Maintain high standards for cleanliness, quality assurance, documentation, and regulatory compliance
• Assist with formulation development and problem-solving when appropriate
• Participate in continuous quality improvement initiatives
• Support other pharmacist responsibilities and pharmacy operations as needed

What We’re Looking For

Required:

• Doctor of Pharmacy (PharmD) or BS Pharmacy degree from an accredited school of pharmacy
• Active Texas Pharmacist license in good standing
• Strong attention to detail and commitment to patient safety
• Excellent communication and organizational skills
• Ability to work effectively with pharmacists, technicians, prescribers, patients, and management
• Dependable, professional, and team-oriented attitude

Highly Preferred:

• Previous non-sterile and/or sterile compounding experience
• Knowledge of USP <795>, USP <797>, and applicable pharmacy compounding regulations
• Experience with customized dosage forms and compounded preparations
• Independent or community pharmacy experience
• Formal compounding training or certification

Compounding experience is strongly preferred; however, pharmacists with a strong interest in compounding and the ability to learn quickly are encouraged to apply.
