Responsibilities
- Operate heavy equipment such as excavators, bulldozers, loaders, and concrete pumps to prepare sites and pour concrete for roadways.
- Assist with rebar installation, ensuring reinforcement is correctly placed according to blueprints and schematics to maintain structural integrity.
- Read and interpret construction blueprints, schematics, and technical drawings to execute precise operations aligned with project specifications.
- Conduct routine maintenance checks on machinery and power tools to ensure optimal performance and safety standards are met.
- Support concrete forming, finishing, and pouring processes by coordinating with team members to achieve smooth surfaces and accurate elevations.
- Handle heavy lifting tasks involving materials like rebar, formwork components, and concrete mixers using appropriate safety procedures.
- Collaborate on site with carpenters, masons, and other trades to ensure seamless workflow during renovation, restoration, or new construction projects.
Experience
- Proven experience operating heavy equipment in a construction or road-building environment is required.
- Strong knowledge of mechanical systems related to construction machinery and power tools.
- Familiarity with reading blueprints, schematics, and technical instructions for precise execution of tasks.
- Hands-on experience with concrete mixing, pumping, finishing techniques, and formwork installation.
- Background in masonry, rebar installation, framing carpentry, or related trades is highly desirable.
- Ability to perform heavy lifting safely while maintaining focus on safety protocols at all times.
- Valid commercial driver’s license (CDL) or equivalent certification is preferred for transporting equipment or materials between sites. Pay: $66.00 - $77.00 per hour
