What are the responsibilities and job description for the Precision Ag Technology Specialist position at Ziegler Ag Equipment?
Ziegler Ag Equipment has an opening for a Precision Ag Technology Specialist. This position will report to and work closely with the Precision Technology Manager to promote, sell, install, and support precision technology. This position will be in the field, working with our Sales and Support teams to provide Precision Technology Solutions to progressive farmers in our territory.Responsibilities:
- Promote the full line of PTx Technology products and Ziegler Precision Technology offerings to both our field team, current customers, and prospective customers
- Generate quotes for both our field team, service team, and customers
- Facilitate and manage the sale through the system to customer delivery and/or start up
- Provide both customer and internal training on install and operation. These trainings will be both in person and virtual
- Support and train on the installation process to internal Ziegler personnel
- Promote and support PTx Software
- Manage all customer subscription billing
- Make recommendations on market accepting support packages and offerings
- Attend OEM training
- Collaborate with Account Managers and Sales Support Representatives for demos, inspections, and field sales functions.
- Become the trusted voice on technology solutions internally and externally
- Utilize CRM to document customer interactions and sales activities
- Recommend on factory integrated technology offerings for inventory
- Provide backup tech and troubleshooting support to Ziegler field staff
- Time will be billed and compensation based on billed time/revenue
Qualifications:
- High School Diploma or GED required; Bachelor’s degree (BA or BS) preferred with emphasis in Ag Business, Ag Technology, mechanics, or similar field
- Utilize CRM to document customer interactions and sales activities
- Recommend on factory integrated technology offerings for inventory
- Provide backup tech and troubleshooting support to Ziegler field staff
- Time will be billed and compensation based on billed time/revenue
- Must have and maintain a clean driving record
Travel:
- Up to 50% travel within territory, minimal overnight travel required
- This role supports all Ag branches within the assigned territory and requires regular travel across those locations. Territory boundaries may be adjusted based on the final candidate’s location to ensure efficient coverage across our Minnesota, Iowa, and MO footprint.

The total compensation (base plus incentive) for this position is
$74,200.00 to $111,300.00
Starting wage is dependent on skills, experience, and education. Along with competitive pay, full time positions are benefits eligible which includes:
