Responsibilities
- Coordinate and schedule vehicle dispatches using transportation management systems and vehicle dispatch software to ensure timely deliveries.
- Communicate clearly and professionally via multi-line phone systems and internal communication channels with drivers, clients, and team members.
- Monitor GPS to track vehicle locations, optimize routes, and adjust plans as needed for efficiency.
- Manage freight documentation, data entry, and record-keeping accurately within logistics and transportation management platforms such as Oracle Transportation Management.
- Ensure compliance with DOT (Department of Transportation) regulations by maintaining proper documentation and adhering to safety standards during dispatching activities.
- Provide exceptional customer service by addressing inquiries, resolving issues promptly, and maintaining positive relationships with clients and drivers.
- Collaborate with supply chain teams to support transportation planning, fleet management, and logistics operations for smooth road transportation workflows.
- Overnight shift flexibility
- Front desk coverage as needed
- Ability to learn other areas in the company
Experience
- Proven experience in dispatching within a logistics or transportation environment, preferably involving road transportation operations.
- Strong organizational skills with the ability to handle multiple priorities efficiently in a fast-paced setting.
- Excellent communication skills, including phone etiquette and the ability to manage multi-line phone systems effectively.
- Knowledge of DOT regulations, freight handling procedures, and logistics best practices.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office applications for data entry, reporting, and analysis tasks, specifically excel.
- Demonstrated analysis skills for route optimization, problem-solving, and decision-making in dispatch scenarios.
