Job Overview:
We are a small construction company seeking a Full Charge Bookkeeper to join our team. Our ideal candidate will be detail-oriented, possess excellent organizational skills and the ability to multi-task and handle the bookkeeping for a multi-company organization. Atmosphere is laid back and casual, chaotic and high volume at times, but fun. In this vital role, you will oversee all aspects of the company's accounting functions, ensuring accuracy, compliance, and timely reporting. This position offers the opportunity to take ownership of the bookkeeping process and contribute to the organization’s financial health and growth.
Responsibilities:
- Oversee the day-to-day accounting operations, including accounts payable, accounts receivable and payroll processing.
- Perform bank reconciliations, credit card reconciliations, and cash flow management to ensure all financial data is precise and up-to-date.
- Manage vendor payments, subcontractor billing, and customer invoicing
- Monitor and reconcile vendor and customer accounts to resolve discrepancies and maintain positive business relationships.
- Handle troubleshooting and clean-up projects, identifying and resolving discrepancies.
- Prepare, review, and record journal entries accurately and precisely using QuickBooks software.
- Maintain accurate records of inventory and fixed assets, supporting cost control and asset management initiatives.
- Generate comprehensive financial reports including income statements, balance sheets, cash flow statements, and other management reports as needed.
- Preparation of tax filings, ensuring compliance with all federal and state regulations and requirements.
- Collaborate with external auditors during audits by providing requested documentation and explanations of financial records.
- Support year-end closing activities by reviewing financial data for accuracy and completeness.
- Handle technical accounting tasks such as double-entry bookkeeping, account analysis, and journal entry posting.

Qualifications:
- 5 years of progressive bookkeeping/accounting experience
- High school diploma or equivalent; Associate’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field preferred.
- Extensive experience with QuickBooks and other financial management tools.
- Advanced Excel skills including the use of formulas, pivot tables, and data analysis tools.
- Proficiency in GAAP standards and technical accounting concepts such as double-entry bookkeeping, debits & credits, journal entries, and account reconciliation.
- Proficiency in bank reconciliations, balance sheet reconciliation, general ledger accounting, and account analysis.
- Proficiency in tax preparation processes related to business operations.
- Ability to handle multiple tasks efficiently and accurately using 10 key typing skills for data entry accuracy.
- Excellent organizational skills with attention to detail to ensure compliance with all regulatory requirements.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills

Pay: $30.00 - $35.00 per hour
