Position Summary: The Operations Manager is responsible for managing the day-to-day operations of the production facility, in addition to ensuring the successful implementation of projects into production, and promoting continuous improvement in the operations through the life-cycle of the programs, ultimately meeting the production objectives of the business unit. What you can look forward to as an Operations Manager: Manage production processes and day-to-day business unit operations (i.e. maintenance, production capacity/planning, production scheduling, production output, and production control). Ensure operational performance standards, overall productivity, and employee satisfaction within the production and maintenance areas. Develop and manage personnel planning for production and maintenance. Work closely with materials, manufacturing engineering, and quality departments to ensure customer requirements are met, and overall satisfaction with cost, quality, and delivery is achieved. Assist in the development of plant operating and business plans; compare operational performance with established operating plans & standards, and interpret/report results of operations. Oversee the implementation of internal continuous improvement activities and facilitate special projects for the production facility (i.e. ZFPS, lean manufacturing, 5S, etc.). Work closely with senior and executive management to develop business plan and complete capital planning projects; ensure manufacturing equipment is productive, maintained, and proactively serviced. Maintain a safe and productive work environment for the employees satisfying ZF standards and policy. Oversee and support strategic planning initiatives for projects related to the implementation of new processes into production (i.e. product changes, prototypes, and new product introduction). Ensure that rework/inspection activities relating to finish goods are executed per ZF standards and policy. Manage all projects related to general facilities maintenance for production facility and distribution center. Assign, check work, enforce company rules, review performance, initiate Changes-In-Status, train, develop and motivate employees, champion individual and team efforts and aid in the development of staff and professionals to achieve individual leadership and company goals and objectives. Lead continuous improvement programs and promote team efforts and objectives. Maintain professional and technical knowledge by attending educational workshops, formal training, reviewing professional publications, establishing and expanding professional networks, and participating in professional societies. Ensure compliance with the ZF Quality Management System requirements (ZF QMS) which includes IATF 16949, ISO 9001 and Customer Specific Requirements (CSR). Perform other duties as assigned Your Profile as a Operations Manager: Four-year degree in a technical field 8 years of experience in a manufacturing environment, specifically in the automotive and/or electronics component industries, including experience encompassing a majority of the following fields – operational finance, manufacturing planning, engineering, quality, sales & purchasing Experience managing personnel Strong knowledge and ability in methods of communication, motivation, negotiation, and conflict management skills with a high level of initiative/drive Knowledge of technical facets of products in addition to flow of products and related materials Familiarity with financial reporting statements TS16949 awareness training Knowledge of 5S and/or Six Sigma problem-solving methodology English and Spanish language competency – both oral and written Must be authorized to work in the United States without sponsorship now or in the future.
