We’re seeking a Construction Superintendent who can both lead in the field and manage on-site operations — ideal for an experienced builder who thrives in a hands-on leadership role and understands the full lifecycle of self-performed work.
An operator’s license (heavy equipment) is strongly preferred.
Position Overview
The Hybrid Superintendent is responsible for planning, coordinating, and executing field operations, ensuring quality, safety, and productivity across all trades under Zeyco’s scope. This role combines superintendent leadership, field engineering, and hands-on construction oversight, bridging the gap between management and self-performing crews.
You will work closely with project managers, foremen, subcontractors, and clients to ensure all aspects of the project meet Zeyco’s high standards for safety, schedule, and quality.
Key Responsibilities Field Leadership & Coordination
- Plan, schedule, and oversee day-to-day field operations for concrete, masonry, sitework, and carpentry trades.
- Manage, coach, and direct field crews to achieve production goals and maintain Zeyco’s quality standards.
- Ensure crews have staged materials, equipment, and workstations for optimal workflow.
- Coordinate closely with Project Management and the Operations Manager on manpower and resource allocation.
- Conduct daily briefings, toolbox talks, and enforce site safety and cleanliness standards.
Technical & Layout Responsibilities
- Provide and oversee onsite layout (total station, robotic total station, and/or theodolite preferred).
- Maintain line and grade accuracy and layout documentation.
- Review construction drawings and specifications for accuracy and field applicability.
- Verify formwork systems, concrete placements, and finished product tolerances.
- Perform periodic project quality checks and documentation.
Project & Administrative Management
- Track daily labor, materials, equipment usage, and production metrics.
- Complete and maintain daily reports, timesheets, and safety logs.
- Oversee delivery tickets, equipment logs, and submittal documentation.
- Communicate effectively with GCs, owners, and vendors to resolve site issues.
- Support project closeout activities, including punch lists and final inspections.
Hands-On & Self-Perform Oversight
- Participate in or oversee placement, finishing, and curing of concrete work.
- Direct and support formwork, rebar installation, layout, and finish operations.
- Operate or supervise use of heavy equipment (Lull, skid steer, mini-excavator, etc.).
- Ensure high-quality craftsmanship across self-performed scopes.
Qualifications
- 5 years of field experience in concrete, masonry, sitework, or carpentry, with at least 2 years in a supervisory or foreman role.
- Strong knowledge of formwork systems, rebar placement, and finishing techniques.
- Experience reading and interpreting construction drawings and specifications.
- Proficiency with surveying/layout equipment (total station, robotic total station, laser level).
- Understanding of concrete mix designs, curing, and finishing techniques.
- Competence with field documentation (daily logs, timesheets, safety paperwork).
- Operator’s license ( heavy equipment) preferred.
- Bachelor’s degree in Construction Management, Civil Engineering, or related field preferred but not required.
- OSHA 10 certification and strong safety leadership mindset.
- OSHA 30 preferred
Job Type: Full-time
Pay: $45.00 - $65.00 per hour
Expected hours: 40 – 50 per week
