Description:

The Electrical Project Manager is responsible for overseeing electrical projects from initial client engagement through completion, ensuring quality execution, profitability, and customer satisfaction. This role combines technical expertise with project management, estimating, and sales responsibilities, leveraging Master Electrician credentials to drive accurate quoting, code compliance, and successful project delivery. The Electrical Project Manager serves as a key link between customers, field teams, and leadership to ensure projects are completed safely, efficiently, and within scope.

Requirements:

Essential Duties and Responsibilities

  • Develop and manage electrical project scopes, timelines, and budgets from start to finish.
  • Prepare detailed estimates, quotes, and proposals for electrical projects and services.
  • Drive sales by identifying opportunities, building client relationships, and converting quotes into awarded work.
  • Serve as the primary point of contact for customers throughout the project lifecycle.
  • Interpret blueprints, specifications, and technical documents to ensure accurate planning and execution.
  • Coordinate with field teams, subcontractors, and vendors to ensure efficient project delivery.
  • Monitor project progress, costs, and profitability, making adjustments as needed to meet financial goals.
  • Ensure all work complies with NFPA standards, local codes, and company safety policies.
  • Troubleshoot project challenges and implement solutions to maintain timelines and quality.
  • Support and guide field personnel, providing technical expertise and leadership when needed.
  • Maintain accurate documentation including estimates, change orders, job costing, and project reports.
  • Collaborate with leadership on forecasting, pipeline visibility, and operational improvements.

Authority

The Electrical Project Manager is authorized to develop project estimates, submit proposals, and manage assigned projects within approved budgets. This role may make decisions related to scheduling, resource allocation, and project execution. Authority includes identifying risks, resolving customer concerns, and ensuring compliance with safety and code requirements, while escalating major financial or contractual deviations to leadership.

Qualifications:

  • Valid Master Electrician license/certification as required by state or local law.
  • Proven experience in electrical project management, estimating, or electrical sales.
  • Strong understanding of electrical systems, NFPA codes, and safety regulations.
  • Demonstrated ability to read and interpret blueprints, schematics, and specifications.
  • Experience with estimating software, project tracking, or ERP systems preferred.
  • Strong business acumen with the ability to manage budgets and drive profitability.
  • Excellent communication, negotiation, and customer relationship skills.
  • Strong problem-solving and decision-making abilities.
  • Commitment to safety, quality, and professionalism.

Working Conditions:

  • Regular site visits with exposure to construction environments, equipment, and varying conditions.
