Battery Systems & Applications Engineer (Electrical Engineer)

ZEUS Battery Products
Bloomingdale, IL Full Time
POSTED ON 7/17/2026
AVAILABLE BEFORE 8/15/2026

Help Engineer the Next Generation of Battery Solutions

At ZEUS Battery Products, we don't manufacture one product over and over again. We partner with OEM customers to solve unique power challenges across medical devices, industrial equipment, telecommunications, security systems, robotics, mobility, emergency lighting, and many other high-reliability applications.

Every project is different.

One week you may be validating a lithium battery solution for a medical device. The next, collaborating with our engineering partners to develop a custom battery pack for an industrial automation system or supporting a customer through the qualification process of a new product. If you enjoy variety, ownership, problem solving, and working with customers from concept through production, we'd love to meet you.

What You'll Do

Lead Customer Projects

  • Own custom battery projects from concept through production.
  • Evaluate customer requirements and translate them into practical battery solutions.
  • Manage project timelines, priorities, and technical deliverables.
  • Ensure projects move efficiently through each development stage.

Engineering & Technical Validation

  • Evaluate battery technologies, cell chemistries, BMS platforms, chargers, and supporting components using ZEUS approved engineering resources.
  • Validate electrical performance, safety, fit, function, manufacturability, and overall solution compatibility.
  • Develop and execute battery testing and validation plans.
  • Analyze test data and provide technical recommendations.
  • Research emerging battery technologies and applications.

Customer Collaboration

  • Serve as a primary technical resource throughout the product development process.
  • Participate in customer meetings to discuss application requirements and technical solutions.
  • Support Sales by providing engineering expertise during new business opportunities.
  • Build long-term technical relationships with OEM customers.

Supplier & Engineering Collaboration

  • Work closely with domestic and overseas engineering partners throughout product development.
  • Coordinate technical communication between customers, suppliers, and internal departments.
  • Validate engineering recommendations while ensuring customer requirements are achieved.
  • Help strengthen supplier relationships and continuous improvement initiatives.

Continuous Improvement & Innovation

  • Improve engineering workflows, documentation, and testing procedures.
  • Help reduce engineering turnaround times through process improvements.
  • Support engineering automation and modern development practices.
  • Contribute ideas that improve product quality, efficiency, and customer experience.

Engineering at ZEUS

We believe engineering is about making informed decisions—not simply following procedures. Our engineers embrace modern tools, including AI, to accelerate research, documentation, and problem solving. However, every recommendation is validated through engineering judgment, testing, supplier collaboration, and real-world application experience. We're looking for someone who is excited by technology but understands that sound engineering is built on validation, experience, and continuous learning.

What Success Looks Like

During your first few years at ZEUS, you'll help:

  • Reduce engineering turnaround times by improving project execution and communication.
  • Support the development of millions of dollars in new OEM business opportunities.
  • Build more efficient testing and validation processes.
  • Improve engineering documentation and automation.
  • Strengthen relationships with global engineering and manufacturing partners.
  • Help shape the future of engineering at ZEUS through innovation and continuous improvement.

What We're Looking For

  • Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering or related engineering discipline.

As a growing company, every engineer has the opportunity to influence products, improve processes, and make a visible impact on the business.
