The Junior Electrical Engineer (Electronic Components) supports the Engineering team in evaluating, documenting, and maintaining electronic and electromechanical components used in product designs, including electromechanical relays and magnetics/transformer components. This entry-level role assists with technical analysis, component data management, customer inquiries, and cross-functional engineering tasks. The position provides hands-on learning opportunities and professional development under the guidance of the Senior Electrical Engineer.
Objectives of the Role:
• Support Engineering, Sales, and Quality teams with accurate technical information.
• Develop foundational knowledge of electromechanical relays, magnetics, and related components.
• Contribute to product documentation, compliance activities, and customer support.
Key Responsibilities:
Technical Liaison & Customer Support
- Act as technical resource to support sales and account management teams.
- Assist in analyzing customer requirements and identifying appropriate product solutions.
- Perform part crosses and support component selection based on electrical, mechanical, and environmental requirements.
- Communicate application specific design considerations to customers.
- Support sales/engineering teams by resolving customer quality issues by gathering data, document findings, and assisting in the RMA and 8D/CAR processes.
- Support field sales with answers to technical questions, product comparisons, etc.
- Maintain familiarity with product families and Zettler supplier roadmaps and new product releases.
- Contribute to the creation of technical marketing assets, including:
- Application notes
- Slide decks (sales enablement materials)
- Reference designs
- Product comparison guides
- White papers/tech briefs
Supervision:
• Works under direct supervision of the Senior Electrical Engineer.
• Receives training, task assignments, and technical guidance from senior staff.
• Does not supervise others.
Qualifications and Requirements:
• BS degree in Electrical Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Mechatronics, or related technical field.
• 1 year engineering experience (internships/co-op acceptable).
• Basic understanding of electrical circuits and mechanical concepts.
• Ability to read mechanical and electrical drawings (entry-level).
• Familiarity with Microsoft Excel, Word, PowerPoint, Outlook, and Teams.
• Knowledge of relays, transformers, or electromechanical components is a plus but not required.
• Ability to read and write English.
• Must be legally authorized to work in the United States without employer sponsorship now or in the future.
