hiring a Member of Technical Staff to help design digital sentience as much an engineering problem as it is a product problem. Their agent needs to remember, reason, and act across millions of simultaneous relationships, each with its own history, social context, and emotional dynamics. That requires technology that's yet to be invented.
The team is looking for an engineer to join their behavior and capabilities teams to invent memory systems, social graph reasoning, platform integrations, and internal training tooling. Over the next 12 months, this person will ship core infrastructure as part of a generational consumer social company.

What the Team Looks For
Strong systems thinker. Most code-execution tasks will be automated within a year. They're excited about exceptional systems designers and software architects obsessed with using AI tools to scale themselves to extreme efficiency.
Consumer product intuition. Great consumer products are the result of countless micro-decisions. They're unreasonably obsessed with getting these details right.
Founder mentality. The team is full of ex-founders, open-source contributors, and builders. They need engineers who can take autonomous ownership over ambiguous problems and see them through with little to no structure.
Exposure to scaling. Experience designing systems from scratch and scaling them to millions of users has seen the growing pains and solved them.
Understand the grind. They're attempting to build a generational institution and recognize that this is one of the hardest things anyone could do. They get excited by people who have proven a true growth mindset, not those who want to "play" startup.
What You Bring
Required:
1 4 years of experience as a high-slope full-stack engineer in consumer social or applied AI
Strong applied AI or agentic AI experience building consumer-facing products (vs internal tooling) strong product sense is crucial
CS or equivalent technical degree from a top 20 university (signal of intelligence)
Avid user of and expert in AI coding tools (Cursor, Claude Code, etc.)
Strong technical fundamentals across the stack and proficient in TypeScript
Exceptionally hungry and passionate about learning/growth and the problem space founder mentality and autonomous ownership of ambiguous problems
Preferred:
Demonstrated track record at a high-craft or early-stage company
Built systems from scratch and comfortable with extreme ambiguity, and/or 1 clear spike of excellence, hunger, and intellect
Experience with AI agent harnessing, memory systems, or social graphs
Preference for consumer social experience
