Role Description
This is a temporary on-site role located in Irvine, CA, for a Waste Sorter. The Waste Sorter will be responsible for manually sorting recyclables, compostable materials, and general waste to ensure proper disposal. Daily tasks include separating materials, identifying recyclable items, identifying contamination or improper sorting, and maintaining cleanliness in waste management areas. The role requires adherence to organizational sustainability guidelines and safety standards at all times.
Work Schedule:
Tuesday, Dec. 9th (8:00AM-5:00PM)
Wednesday, Dec. 10th (8:00AM-5:00PM)
Thursday, Dec. 11th (8AM-12:00PM)
Pay Rate:
$25/hr
Qualifications
- Safety shoes (non-slip, steel-toe shoes/boots)
- Other safety gear, such as gloves and goggles, will be provided
- Attention to detail and ability to identify and sort different materials such as recyclables, compostables, and landfill waste
- General knowledge of waste management best practices and sustainability principles
- Physical stamina with the ability to lift and move materials safely
- Strong organizational and time management skills
- Team-oriented attitude with effective communication abilities
- Commitment to environmental conservation and sustainability
- Prior experience in waste sorting, recycling, or waste management processes is a plus
- High school diploma or equivalent and higher preferred
