What are the responsibilities and job description for the Associate Production Technical Designer/PD manager position at Zero + Maria Cornejo?
We are a New York City based design-led, independent, women-owned business. We produce a collection of women's ready to wear sold at our own retail location in Tribeca and at specialty stores in the US and abroad. The entirety of our collection is produced in New York and we place a premium on the sustainability of our production processes and our fabrics.
We are seeking a focused, resourceful and detail oriented individual to become an integral part of our small design and production team.
Responsibilities
- Prepare, track and prioritize pattern corrections and production fit schedule; issue PPS cut tickets
- Create Tech Packs across all development and production stages and ensure consistent fit standards
- Support design development of SMS for collection - pattern coordination, cut tickets and BOM entry for costing
- Analyze yields at development and production stages
- Review PPS and SMS samples, verifying construction accuracy and updating fit records
- Prepare detailed cut notes for factory production, including construction callouts, trim details, label placement, and fabric marker information
- Finalize styles for Marking & Grading; create M&G request forms and review marker reports, mini markers, and yields
- Review TOP samples for spec, fit, and construction accuracy; communicate approvals or correction requests to factories
- Create swatch sheets, CADs, and visual mockups to support retail and wholesale commercial line sheets
- Maintain product development records in internal systems (AM), including BOMs, trim info, and pattern numbers
Qualifications
- Experience in fitting garments - assess fit issues and propose solutions
- Production tech pack experience - proficient in specs and garment construction details/engineering
- Proficient in marking/grading
- Detail oriented, resourceful and communicate well
- Adept at time management- independently set priorities and follow production timelines
