What are the responsibilities and job description for the Western Regional Sales Manager position at Zero Manufacturing?
SUMMARY
The RSM is responsible for driving Zero’s Sales & Marketing strategy within a given region. This responsibility includes meeting or exceeding established goals aimed at growing the business as an individual contributor and through collaboration with Zero’s Manufacturer Representatives.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
- Manage an assigned geographic sales region to maximize sales revenues and meet corporate objectives.
- Accurately forecast annual, quarterly and monthly revenue streams.
- Develop specific plans to ensure revenue growth.
- Business growth within existing accounts
- New business growth with target accounts
- Coordinate proper company resources to ensure efficient and stable sales.
- Develop sales plans and quote strategies to maximize revenue & profitability.
- Manage sales expenses of the area at a reasonable level.
- Manage progression of new customer opportunities into the sales funnel.
- Manage sales process to ensure on-time delivery.
- Manage the standards and expectations of regional Rep Organization to ensure involvement and effectiveness.
- Present qualified New Business Opportunities to the sales team and Zero management.
- Secure order from customer and coordinate costing and delivery date.
- Coordinate Zero functional activities to efficiently advance new customer programs through Zero departments.
- Obtain written Customer approval of Zero specification and prototype.
- Coordinate with Engineering to develop proposals and quotations for new production opportunities.
- Travel to customer sites for company presentations, proposals, submissions.
- Maintain close contact with accounts to ensure they are supported properly.
- Other duties and responsibilities
- Participate in establishing and implementing short and long range goals, objectives, policies, and operating procedures.
- Participate in the development and implementation of departmental policies and procedures consistent with those of the company to ensure efficient operation of the program/project.
- Develop systems and maintain records that provide for proper evaluation, control, and documentation of assigned activities; prepares a variety of written correspondence, reports, procedures, directives and other materials.
- Utilize CRM Database to evaluate region performance
- Perform miscellaneous job-related duties as assigned.

EDUCATION AND/OR EXPERIENCE
- Bachelor’s degree from four-year college.
- Five (5) to seven (7) years of selling experience as an individual contributor or as a regional sales manager, preferably in the Aerospace and Defense Markets.
- Experience working with and through manufacturers’ representatives is desired.
MATHEMATICAL SKILLS
Ability to calculate figures and amounts such as discounts, interest, commissions, depreciation, proportions, percentages, etc. Ability to apply concepts of basic algebra and geometry.
