Core Responsibilities
- Program CNC lathes and mills from customer drawings/specifications, targeting optimal yield and cost.
- Create toolpaths from supplied CAD via Mastercam or Hypermill; generate new 3D models/2D drawings when required.
- Build setup sheets; select cutting tools and define tool offsets.
- Lead and instruct setups for CNC Mills and CNC Lathes; troubleshoot programming issues.
- Drive continuous improvement aligned with the company QMS; uphold safety and quality objectives.
- Issue purchasing requisitions for tooling and BOM requirements.
- Collaborate cross-functionally to resolve manufacturing issues.
- Operate a small manufacturing cell: oversee up to three CNC machines and directly manage one operator.
- High School diploma or GED required; associate’s degree, technical certification, or advanced apprenticeship is a plus.
- 1 year of CNC programming experience.
- 4 years of machining experience (unless otherwise qualified by manager).
- Proficient in Mastercam or Hypermill; strong general computer literacy.
- Strong blueprint reading; working knowledge of GD&T (advanced preferred).
- Solid problem-solving skills; leadership ability highly preferred.
- Competent with machinist gauges (calipers, micrometers, etc.).
- Comfortable working with a broad range of materials: steels, aluminum, stainless, plastics, titanium, copper, ceramic, and more.
- Required: setup and operation of 3-axis mills; Preferred: 4- and 5-axis mills; Prior CNC machining & setup experience preferred.
- GD&T and AS9100 proficiency expected.
- Ability to lift 50–75 lbs; sit/stand for extended periods; willing to work overtime with a flexible schedule.
- Haas VMC (3–4 axis), CNC Lathe (2–4 axis)

- Mazak 5 axis lathe
- Mastercam (Hypermill also accepted)
