The Senior Paid Social Strategist is responsible for leading the strategy, execution, and performance of paid social campaigns across multiple clients. This role brings a strong balance of strategic thinking and technical expertise—translating data into actionable insights, driving optimization, and delivering measurable business impact.
This individual operates as a key owner of their accounts, managing complex programs with a high level of autonomy while contributing to team growth, process improvement, and cross-channel collaboration. Success in this role requires strong ownership, proactive communication, and the ability to independently drive work forward.
Key Responsibilities
Performance & Strategy
- Own performance across multiple paid social accounts, ensuring alignment with client business goals and KPIs
- Translate campaign data into clear, actionable insights that drive performance improvements
- Develop and execute full-funnel paid social strategies focused on efficiency, scale, and conversion
- Identify opportunities to improve audience targeting, creative performance, and conversion paths
- Proactively identify performance risks and implement solutions before escalation is needed
Platform & Technical Expertise
- Build and manage scalable campaign structures across platforms such as Meta and LinkedIn
- Leverage advanced platform features, including automated rules, experiments, and optimization tools
- Troubleshoot and resolve issues related to tracking, attribution, bidding strategies, and platform delivery
- Implement structured testing strategies (creative, audience, bidding) to continuously improve results
Reporting & Insights
- Deliver clear, insight-driven reporting that connects performance to business outcomes
- Translate data into compelling narratives and strategic recommendations
- Identify trends, patterns, and opportunities to inform future strategy
- Maintain a consistent testing and learning agenda across accounts
Client & Team Collaboration
- Build strong client relationships through proactive communication and strategic guidance
- Communicate performance updates, challenges, and recommendations with clarity and confidence
- Partner closely with Account and Project Management teams to ensure alignment on priorities, timelines, and deliverables
- Surface risks, delays, or blockers early with clear mitigation plans
Ownership & Execution Excellence
- Take full ownership of assigned accounts, ensuring work is delivered accurately and on time
- Maintain strong visibility into task progress, proactively communicating status updates and risks
- Manage multiple priorities while meeting deadlines without requiring senior intervention
- Demonstrate proactive thinking by identifying next steps, opportunities, and solutions without direction
Operational Excellence
- Manage multiple accounts and priorities while maintaining strong attention to detail and deadlines
- Contribute to scoping, planning, and prioritization of work across accounts
- Ensure clear documentation, organization, and handoff of work to support team efficiency
- Identify and implement process improvements to increase scalability and consistency
Team Development & Contribution
- Mentor junior team members on execution, strategy, and platform best practices
- Contribute to the development and refinement of internal processes and SOPs
- Test and share new platform features, tools, and best practices
- Support a collaborative, accountable, and high-performing team environment
Business Contribution
- Identify opportunities for account growth and performance expansion
- Support the development of case studies, campaign narratives, and marketing materials
- Contribute strategic insights during planning and client conversations
Qualifications
- 4–6 years of paid media experience, with agency experience preferred
- Proven experience managing paid social campaigns with measurable performance outcomes
- Strong analytical skills with the ability to translate data into actionable insights
- Hands-on experience with platforms such as Meta and LinkedIn
- Experience with testing strategies, attribution, and performance optimization
- Experience in higher education and/or eCommerce verticals is a plus
- Platform certifications preferred (Meta Blueprint, LinkedIn Marketing Labs, or equivalent)
- Experience with TikTok Ads; TikTok Shop, and social commerce experience is a plus
