Overview
We are seeking a dynamic and experienced Catering Sales Manager to lead our catering operations and drive business growth. The ideal candidate will possess strong management skills, a proven track record in sales, and expertise in client relationship management. This role offers an exciting opportunity to oversee event planning, develop new business opportunities, and ensure exceptional customer service across our catering services.

Education & Experience

  • Bachelor’s degree in hospitality, Business, Event Management, or related field preferred.
  • Minimum 2–3 years of experience in catering sales, event planning, or hotel banquet operations.
  • Resort, conference center, or multi-venue event experience strongly preferred.
  • Experience with weddings, corporate meetings, social events, and association groups is a plus.

Event & Catering Knowledge

  • Strong understanding of BEO creation, menu planning, room setup standards, and event coordination.
  • Proven success in securing and managing social and corporate catering business.
  • Experience conducting site tours, presenting proposals, and negotiating contracts.
  • Knowledge of local and destination wedding markets is highly desirable.

Sales Skills

  • Ability to develop new business through proactive prospecting, networking, and community partnerships.
  • Strong closing skills with focus on revenue maximization and profitability.
  • Understanding of upsell strategies, F&B minimums, and event revenue forecasting.
  • Ability to work closely with group sales for blended events requiring both rooms and banquet space.

Guest Service & Professionalism

  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
  • Professional appearance and demeanor—confident representing the resort during client interactions.
  • Ability to build strong relationships with planners, vendors, and internal teams.
  • Exceptional organizational skills with high attention to detail.

Collaboration & Teamwork

  • Works closely with culinary, banquet, catering, group sales, and revenue teams to ensure seamless event execution.
  • Ability to clearly communicate client expectations to operations teams.
  • Strong follow-through to ensure events are executed to resort standards.

Technical Skills

  • Proficiency with catering/event software and CRM tools (Delphi, CI/TY, or similar).
  • Strong computer skills including Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and Outlook.
  • Ability to read and interpret banquet setup diagrams and event proposals.

Work Style

  • Highly self-motivated with the ability to manage multiple events simultaneously.
  • Flexible and adaptable in a fast-paced resort environment with changing priorities.
  • Ability to work weekends, evenings, and holidays as dictated by events and client needs.
  • Strong problem-solving abilities and calm under pressure.

Other Requirements

  • Valid driver’s license and reliable transportation for local market outreach.
  • Ability to walk event spaces, conduct tours, and navigate indoor/outdoor resort areas.
  • Passion for creating memorable guest experiences and representing the resort’s elevated service standards.

Pay: $50,000.00 - $60,000.00 per year
