Zephyr Naturals, located in South Salt Lake, UT, is a co-manufacturer of gummies and dietary supplements. We comply with FDA, UDAF, SQF, NSF, Kosher, Halal, Organic, and many other food safety and quality systems. We are looking to fill the role of Packaging Line Supervisor. This position reports to the production & operations team.
Job Summary
The Packaging Line Supervisor Morning / Night shifts overseeing the work of the packaging team to ensure all products are packed efficiently, safely, and in compliance with high-quality GMP standards. You will manage workflows, coordinate with production departments, and drive continuous improvement on the line.
Key Responsibilities
- Team Leadership: Mentoring staff, managing work schedules, supervising, training, and mentor packaging staff, including managing schedules, performance reviews, and daily task assignments.
- Operational Excellence: Ensures efficiencies are achieved, monitor daily packaging schedules to ensure shipping deadlines are met and production targets are achieved.
- Quality Control: Inspect finished goods and packaging for defects, ensuring everything meets customer specifications and Good Manufacturing Practices (GMP). Label accuracy, lot number accuracy.
- Safety & Compliance: Enforce adherence to OSHA, food safety, and environmental regulations.
- Maintenance & Troubleshooting: Oversee equipment setup, identifying machine malfunctions, and coordinating with the maintenance department for repairs.
- Inventory Management: Monitor levels of packaging materials and supplies, requisitioning new stock as needed to prevent production delays.
- Documentation: Maintain accurate records of production metrics, attendance, and safety incidents.
Required Qualifications
- Experience: Typically requires 3–5 years of experience in a manufacturing or packaging environment, with previous supervisory experience.
- Knowledge: Thorough understanding of line operations, line balance, and Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs).
- Skills: Strong communication, problem-solving, and basic math skills.
- Physical Ability: Must be able to lift a minimum of 30–75 lbs. and work flexible or extra hours as needed.
- Education: Bachelor’s degree preferred, or equivalent experience.
Pay: $20.00 - $24.00 per hour
