Ballyhoo Hospitality Group is seeking an energetic, hospitality focused Lead Host to join our Zenzi Den team in Glenview.

Concept Overview: Zenzi Den is a Ballyhoo Hospitality concept located in downtown Glenview that centers around Japanese inspired cooking and live fire techniques. The restaurant’s menu focuses on dishes prepared over a vibrant robata grill, highlighting thoughtfully sourced meats, seafood, and vegetables cooked over open flame. Traditional Japanese inspiration meets bold, comforting flavors to create a menu designed for sharing and exploration.

The dining room blends warm wood, natural textures, and glowing firelight to create an atmosphere that feels both intimate and energetic. Guests gather around the grill and bar to enjoy Japanese influenced cocktails, sake, and curated beverages that complement the cuisine.

Job Summary: The Lead Host role is pivotal in creating a positive first impression for our guests. The ideal candidate will be pleasant, detail-oriented, and consistently professional, possessing strong hospitality instincts and a genuine drive to exceed guest expectations. Success in this role requires the ability to work collaboratively as part of a team, communicate effectively, and contribute to smooth service operations and the delivery of high-quality service. As the Lead Host, you'll oversee the host stand, coordinate guest flow, support the front-of-house team, and ensure every guest receives a warm, welcoming experience from the moment they arrive.

Job Requirements & Qualifications: Primary duties and responsibilities include, but are not limited to, the following:

• Foster and maintain strong relationships with guests and the community.
• Exhibit warmth and hospitality in all interactions.
• Drive sales and covers through precise management of reservation software.
• Experience in Resy is preferred.
• Lead and develop the host team.
• Possess excellent interpersonal and communication skills, both with guests and team members.
• Demonstrate the ability to work cohesively with both front-of-house and back-of-house colleagues.
• Exhibit a passion for learning and active participation in daily food and beverage training.
• Demonstrate proficiency in the use and operation of all necessary tools and equipment, including the Toast POS system, and Resy.
• Maintain a clean working environment.
• Must successfully pass general information and food and beverage quizzes.
• May perform other duties as assigned.
• Possess ServSafe Food Handler Certification.
• Night and weekend availability is required.
