ZenythPay is a fast-growing merchant services company serving small businesses across Los Angeles County. We offer transparent interchange-plus pricing for offline and online transactions, dual pricing / cash discount programs, POS systems, and ACH payments.
LA County is our home market. We serve restaurants, retail shops, salons, medical offices, auto repair shops, e-commerce businesses, and high-risk merchants including cannabis and CBD. Our multilingual capabilities and deep roots in LA's diverse neighborhoods — Koreatown, San Gabriel Valley, Glendale, East LA.
We're at a pivotal growth stage and need our first dedicated sales leader to build and own the revenue function from the ground up.
The Role
This is a player-coach position. You will carry your own book of business while simultaneously building the partnerships, referral channels, and sales infrastructure that will drive ZenythPay's long-term merchant growth across LA County. You'll report directly to company leadership and have significant influence over pricing strategy, product positioning, and market expansion decisions.
What You'll Own
Merchant Acquisition
- Own the full sales cycle from lead to live merchant: prospecting, statement analysis, proposal, boarding, and handoff to account management
- Close new merchant accounts across ZenythPay's target verticals: restaurants, retail, salons, medical, auto repair, e-commerce, and high-risk businesses
- Work toward a target of 10 new merchants per month, scaling over time
Channel & Partnership Development
- Build and manage a CPA and bookkeeper referral network — the highest-converting channel in our market
- Develop relationships with ethnic business associations: Korean American Business Association, Latin Business Association, Chinese Chamber of Commerce, Armenian business networks, and 50 local chambers of commerce across LA County
- Identify and negotiate ISV and POS vendor partnerships (restaurant software, retail management platforms, QuickBooks integrators, salon software) to create scalable referral pipelines
- Represent ZenythPay at local business events, BNI chapters, and community networking functions
Sales Infrastructure & Leadership
- Define and document the ZenythPay sales playbook: objection handling scripts, proposal templates, competitive positioning guides (vs. Square, Stripe, Toast, Clover, Heartland)
- Implement and manage CRM for pipeline tracking, follow-ups, and performance reporting
- As the business scales, recruit, onboard, and coach additional sales reps or independent agents
- Report weekly on pipeline, conversion rates, new merchant volume, and channel performance
What You'll Sell
You'll be selling a genuinely differentiated product into a market full of merchant frustration:
- Interchange-plus pricing
- Dual pricing / cash discount programs
- POS systems and terminals
- Online payment gateways
- ACH payments — for high-ticket B2B transactions and recurring billing
- High-risk merchant accounts
What We're Looking For
Required Experience:
- 5 years of B2B sales experience, ideally in merchant services, payment processing, fintech, or a closely adjacent field (insurance, SaaS, business banking)
- Demonstrated ability to prospect, qualify, and close independently — this is not a lead-fed or inbound role at this stage
- Experience building or contributing to referral-based sales channels (accountants, attorneys, associations, or similar trust-network relationships)
- Comfortable conducting financial analysis conversations — reviewing merchant statements, explaining pricing models, quantifying savings
- Strong written and verbal communication skills; able to represent ZenythPay professionally with business owners, CPAs, and community leaders
Preferred Qualifications:
- Prior experience at a sub-ISO, ISO, or merchant acquiring organization
- Existing relationships within the LA County small business ecosystem — chambers, trade associations, CPAs
- Familiarity with interchange-plus pricing, dual pricing programs, and California surcharging regulations
- Experience selling into the restaurant or retail vertical
Compensation & Benefits
Base salary starts at $3,000/month. Total compensation — including performance bonuses — will be discussed in detail during the interview process. We believe in aligning sales leadership compensation with the long-term value they create, and we're open to structuring the right package for the right person.
