Key Responsibilities
- Perform stat and routine clinical laboratory testing across licensed technical disciplines under the direction of a laboratory supervisor, manager, or director.
- Follow all written procedures and regulatory requirements.
- Apply theoretical concepts of laboratory medicine, using independent judgment to produce timely and accurate results.
- Maintain required licensure and competency; regularly scheduled in Blood Bank, Chemistry, and Hematology sections.
- Perform non-technical duties as needed, including specimen collection, processing, and referral testing.
- Work evening or night shifts and function as the primary laboratory contact for the facility’s trauma team during assigned shifts.
- Support departmental goals related to service, quality, regulatory compliance, financial performance, patient satisfaction, workplace culture, and interdepartmental collaboration.
Requirements
- Associate Degree in Science (required)
- Bachelor’s Degree in Medical Technology (preferred)
- State Medical Technologist License (Florida or applicable state)
- Technical specialties: Blood Bank/Immunohematology, Chemistry, Hematology
- Minimum 3–5 years of experience in a medical laboratory
- Three or more years of experience and typically scheduled in at least five areas of the lab
Pay: $32.00 - $48.00 per hour
