We are now seeking a talented Manufacturing Engineer to join the operations team at their Andover, Massachusetts facility.
Reporting to the Manufacturing Engineering Manager, you will be responsible for developing, maintaining and continuously improving the manufacturing processes used to produce complex electronic and electromechanical product lines.
This is an excellent opportunity for a hands-on Manufacturing Engineer who enjoys solving technical challenges, improving manufacturing performance and working closely with production teams to deliver measurable improvements.
Key Responsibilities
- Define and establish manufacturing engineering requirements for machinery, equipment, tooling, manufacturing methods, processes and production routings.
- Provide hands-on technical support to shop-floor personnel, troubleshooting manufacturing processes, equipment and quality issues.
- Develop and maintain routings, process sheets, work instructions and process drawings.
- Establish and optimize feeds, speeds, cycle times and other equipment operating parameters.
- Evaluate, recommend, justify and implement new equipment, tooling and manufacturing processes.
- Analyze and continuously improve existing manufacturing processes to increase efficiency, productivity, quality and throughput using LEAN manufacturing principles.
- Work closely with product development and engineering teams to incorporate Design for Manufacturing (DFM) principles into new and existing products.
- Identify and implement cost-reduction initiatives across manufacturing operations.
- Collaborate with production teams and external suppliers to resolve technical and process-related issues.
- Support continuous improvement initiatives across the manufacturing environment.
What We're Looking For
- Proven hands-on experience with electromechanical assemblies.
- Experience working with products that integrate mechanical and electrical/electronic components.
- Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering, Manufacturing Engineering, Industrial Engineering, Engineering Technology or a related discipline.
- 6 years of relevant industry experience in manufacturing engineering, manufacturing technologies, methods and assembly processes.
- Practical experience applying LEAN manufacturing principles and continuous improvement methodologies.
- Strong analytical, troubleshooting and problem-solving skills.
- Ability to work effectively with engineering teams, shop-floor personnel, suppliers and other stakeholders.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
- A hands-on, proactive approach with the ability to take ownership of projects and drive improvements through to implementation.
- Desirable: Experience with electronics/electrical assembly and manufacturing.
Compensation & Benefits
Base Salary: $120,000–$130,000 per year
Annual Bonus: 10%
