Position Overview:
We are seeking a compassionate and experienced Registered Nurse (RN) to join our team at ZenKetamine Clinic. The RN will play a pivotal role in ensuring the safe and effective delivery of ketamine therapy, while providing exceptional patient care and support. This position offers a unique opportunity to work in an emerging field of mental health treatment and contribute to the growth and success of our clinic.
Responsibilities and Tasks:
1. Patient Assessment and Monitoring:
- Conduct thorough patient assessments, including physical and mental health evaluations, prior to ketamine therapy sessions. This includes procuring and assessing medical questionnaires and escalating or responding as appropriate.
- Monitor patients' vital signs, psychological responses, and overall well-being throughout ketamine infusions.
- Respond promptly to any changes in patient condition or adverse reactions. Maintain situational awareness and inform supervising physician of relevant updates.
2. Ketamine Administration:
- Administer ketamine infusions under the supervision of our medical director, following established protocols for dosage, timing, and patient monitoring.
- Ensure proper setup and maintenance of IV lines, infusion pumps, and other equipment.
- Monitor infusion rates and adjust as necessary based on patient response.
3. Safety and Protocol Adherence:
- Adhere to strict safety protocols and guidelines during ketamine therapy sessions to ensure patient safety and comfort.
- Maintain a clean and organized treatment environment, including medication preparation areas and infusion rooms.
- Collaborate with the medical team to develop and update treatment protocols as needed.
- Make sure patients are safe and stable for discharge and provide discharge instructions.
4. Patient Education and Support:
- Provide patients with comprehensive education about ketamine therapy, including benefits, potential side effects, and aftercare instructions.
- Offer emotional support and guidance to patients during therapy sessions, helping them navigate their experiences and address any concerns or anxieties.
5. Documentation and Record Keeping:
- Maintain accurate and detailed records of patient assessments, treatment plans, infusion parameters, and any adverse events.
- Ensure timely documentation in electronic medical records (EMR) systems, adhering to clinic policies and regulatory requirements.
Required Skills:
1. Clinical Expertise:
- Current licensure as a Registered Nurse (RN) in [state].

- BLS and ACLS certification preferred.

Requirements
Education: Graduation from an accredited nursing school
Licensing: Current and valid California nursing license
Experience: One year of work experience in a dynamic ambulatory care setting is preferred. Experience in proper setup and maintenance of IV lines is a must! Demonstrated ability to work effectively in a team.
