Company Description

Zenith Intelligence Group — ZIG is a Washington, D.C.–based U.S. nonprofit think-do tank recognized as a 501(c)(3) organization. ZIG focuses on advancing U.S. and allied strategic advantage through research, analysis, policy engagement, and technology-oriented initiatives across artificial intelligence, space-enabled intelligence, defense innovation, data governance, critical infrastructure resilience, healthcare systems, disaster preparedness, and national-security strategy.

ZIG operates at the intersection of emerging technology, public-interest innovation, and strategic policy. Its mission is to help bridge the gap between advanced science, institutional decision-making, and real-world implementation in a rapidly evolving geopolitical and technological environment.

Role Description

ZIG is seeking two senior executive volunteer leaders to support the organization’s next stage of institutional growth:

1. Director of Development & Strategic Donor Partnerships

2. Director of Strategy & Institutional Partnerships

These are remote, unpaid executive volunteer leadership roles designed for experienced professionals who want to contribute to a serious U.S.-based nonprofit think-do tank operating at the intersection of AI, space, defense innovation, resilience, and strategic technology policy.

The selected leaders will work with ZIG’s executive leadership to strengthen donor development, institutional strategy, corporate partnerships, foundation engagement, and government-adjacent stakeholder relationships.

Key Responsibilities

Depending on the role, responsibilities may include:

  • Supporting ZIG’s institutional growth strategy and executive positioning
  • Building relationships with donors, foundations, corporate partners, and strategic sponsors
  • Supporting outreach to aerospace, defense, technology, public-sector, and philanthropic stakeholders
  • Helping develop fundable programs in AI, space-enabled intelligence, defense innovation, resilience, and public-interest technology
  • Preparing strategic briefings, donor materials, partnership concepts, and executive-level outreach language
  • Advising leadership on institutional credibility, stakeholder engagement, and long-term partnership development
  • Supporting collaboration with think tanks, universities, corporations, foundations, and government-adjacent institutions
Qualifications

Ideal candidates should have experience in one or more of the following areas:

  • Defense, aerospace, NASA, federal government, congressional affairs, or national-security policy
  • Public policy, strategic technology, AI policy, space policy, defense innovation, or critical infrastructure
  • Corporate partnerships, philanthropy, foundation relations, CSR, nonprofit development, or donor engagement
  • Think tanks, universities, public-sector innovation, institutional strategy, or government relations
  • Executive-level stakeholder engagement, strategic communications, or partnership development
Candidate Requirements
  • Must be a U.S. citizen
  • Strong professional judgment, discretion, and integrity
  • Ability to engage with senior leaders, institutions, donors, and strategic partners
  • Excellent communication, writing, analytical, and relationship-management skills
  • Commitment to public-interest technology, U.S. strategic competitiveness, and mission-driven institutional development
Preferred Profile

ZIG is especially interested in candidates with prior experience in or around the defense, aerospace, NASA, federal government, congressional, philanthropic, corporate, or national-security ecosystem.

This opportunity is best suited for senior professionals who can bring credibility, strategic judgment, and institutional networks to help build a high-impact nonprofit think-do tank.

Application Instructions

Qualified candidates are invited to submit:

  • CV/resume
  • LinkedIn profile
  • Brief statement of interest
  • Relevant background in defense, aerospace, NASA, federal government, congressional affairs, philanthropy, strategy, donor partnerships, or institutional development
