Must-Haves
- Bachelor’s degree required; advanced degree such as JD or MBA strongly preferred
- CRCM, CAMS, or similar compliance/risk certification required
- 10 years of compliance or risk management experience within financial services
- Minimum 5 years of leadership experience managing compliance teams
- Deep knowledge of federal and state lending regulations including TILA, ECOA, FCRA, and UDAAP
- Direct experience with lending products such as personal loans, credit cards, and installment loans
- Proven ability to build and manage compliance programs in a fast-paced environment
- Strong leadership, communication, and cross-functional collaboration skills
- Ability to translate complex regulatory requirements into actionable business guidance
- Able to commute 3 days a week to Woodbridge, NJ (Tues-Thurs)
Plusses
- Experience working within a FinTech startup or digital-first financial institution
- Familiarity with regulatory agencies including CFPB, OCC, FDIC, and state banking departments
- Experience managing regulatory examinations, audits, and inquiries
- Prior experience developing compliance dashboards, KRIs, and reporting frameworks

Day-to-Day
One of our fintech clients is seeking to hire a VP of Compliance to join the compliance team. In this role, you will oversee the day-to-day operations of the Compliance function while partnering closely with the Chief Compliance Officer to strengthen and evolve the company’s compliance program. You will monitor and interpret regulatory developments, ensuring business teams remain aligned with applicable lending laws and emerging FinTech requirements. A significant portion of your time will be spent leading compliance risk assessments, managing issue remediation efforts, and refining policies and procedures across the organization. You will collaborate cross-functionally with business, legal, risk, and audit teams to provide practical compliance guidance on new products, process enhancements, and strategic initiatives. The role also includes mentoring and developing the Compliance team while fostering a culture of accountability, transparency, and continuous improvement. Success in this position requires the ability to manage multiple priorities simultaneously in a fast-paced and highly collaborative environment.
