You will shadow and work alongside successful, tenured, sales representatives who know the job inside and out. You will also train and work directly with our Sales & Account Management team and watch how they handle every detail of moving our customer’s freight. Finally, you will get in on the action and interact with our carrier partners. A Carrier Sales Representative…
Will focus on generating, cultivating, and maintaining relationships with carrier partners all over the United States enabling Zengistics to widen its carrier network. An average day might look something like:
- Remaining in frequent contact with carrier partners to grow relationships.
- Partnering with senior members of the operations team to confirm freight specifications.
- Unearthing new carrier partner opportunities and turn them into long-term partnerships.
- Identifying, mitigating, and resolving potential operational delays and obstacles.
- Working accurately and effectively as part of the Zengistics team to make sure our carrier partners are delighted with the experience of working with us.
- Placing and receiving calls with dispatchers and truck drivers.
- Documenting communication to ensure transparent and efficient carrier operations.
- Collecting important paperwork from shippers and carriers.
- Tracking and tracing shipments and deliveries of our customer’s freight.
- Entrepreneurial minded and eager to take initiative.
- Competitive, coachable, and self-motivated.
- An organized professional with exceptional time management skills.
- An excellent communicator with an ability to build powerful relationships.
- Technology savvy and capable of using multiple software platforms simultaneously.
- Able to communicate effectively via email and phone.
- Preferably some logistics background but not required.
- Able to commute to our Downtown Austin office 4 days a week.
