ServiceNow CMDB Architect
Client: CTS/Liberty Mutual
W2 Contract Salary: $120K to $125K ($500/Month Health Insurance, No other benefits)
Experience
- Typically 7 years in IT service management, configuration management, or IT operations with at least 3-5 years focused on CMDB architecture and governance.
- Relevant Background:
- Hands-on experience designing and implementing large-scale CMDBs, preferably within ServiceNow environments.
- Deep understanding of CI lifecycle, data modeling, discovery, reconciliation, and integration techniques.
- Experience with Common Service Data Model (CSDM) and enterprise architecture frameworks.
- Proven track record of collaborating with cross-functional teams (ITSM, ITOM, Security, Asset Management).
- Exposure to cloud infrastructure, application portfolio management, and enterprise IT architecture is highly beneficial.
- Project Experience:
- Leading CMDB modernization or transformation projects.
- Defining CMDB strategy, standards, and policies.
- Implementing automated data ingestion, reconciliation, and data quality monitoring.
Technical Skills
- ServiceNow Expertise:
- Deep knowledge of ServiceNow CMDB, Discovery, Service Mapping, and ITOM modules.
- Experience configuring and extending CMDB data models, relationship mapping, and class hierarchies.
- Familiarity with Flow Designer, IntegrationHub, and scripting (JavaScript, Jelly) for custom workflows and automation.
- Understanding of ServiceNow Common Service Data Model (CSDM) best practices.
- Data Modeling & Governance:
- Strong skills in data architecture, taxonomy, and metadata management.
- Experience defining data quality frameworks, reconciliation rules, and audit processes.
- Knowledge of data governance practices, compliance standards, and stewardship models.
- Discovery & Integration:
- Expertise in discovery tools (ServiceNow Discovery or others) and integration patterns for CMDB population.
- Ability to design scalable, resilient data ingestion and synchronization architectures.
- Enterprise Architecture:
- Familiarity with EA frameworks such as TOGAF, ArchiMate, or similar.
- Ability to align CMDB architecture with broader IT and business architectures.
Certifications
- Certified Implementation Specialist – IT Service Management (CIS-ITSM)
Validates knowledge of ITSM processes and CMDB configuration within ServiceNow.
- Certified Implementation Specialist – Discovery (CIS-Discovery)
Focuses on discovery and service mapping capabilities critical for CMDB accuracy.
- Certified Implementation Specialist – IT Operations Management (CIS-ITOM)
