Responsibilities
- Greet guests warmly upon arrival and assist with seating arrangements to ensure a smooth flow of service.
- Take detailed food and beverage orders accurately using POS systems such as Aloha POS or Micros POS, and communicate orders efficiently to the kitchen staff.
- Provide expert recommendations on menu items, wine pairings, and specials to enhance the guest experience through upselling techniques.
- Serve food and drinks promptly while maintaining presentation standards; ensure all dishes meet quality expectations before delivery.
- Monitor guest satisfaction throughout their meal, address any concerns promptly, and ensure a high level of guest relations at all times.
- Handle cash transactions accurately using POS systems, process payments securely, and manage cash handling responsibilities with integrity.
- Maintain cleanliness and sanitation standards by bussing tables efficiently, assisting with food handling procedures, and adhering to food safety regulations.
Skills
- Proven experience in fine dining restaurant serving or food service roles with a strong understanding of upscale hospitality standards.
- Proficiency with POS systems such as Aloha POS, Micros POS, or OpenTable for order processing and cashiering.
- Excellent customer service skills with the ability to build rapport and handle guest inquiries professionally.
- Strong time management skills to prioritize tasks during busy service periods while maintaining attention to detail.
- Knowledge of food safety practices, sanitation protocols, and proper food handling procedures in a restaurant setting.
- Ability to upsell menu items confidently to increase sales while ensuring guest satisfaction.
