About the Role
Zen Payments is a high-risk payment processing ISO. We rank in a narrow, competitive niche, and we need an SEO Manager who can own our organic search performance end to end. We are looking for someone who drives ranking and volume for a tightly defined set of commercial keywords, not someone who widens the net with unrelated content.
What You'll Do
- Own SEO strategy for a focused set of high-intent commercial keywords in the payments space and drive measurable ranking and traffic gains against them.
- Write SEO content yourself (this is a hands-on writing role), building content specifically to strengthen internal linking to priority pages rather than creating content for unrelated topics.
- Own technical SEO end to end: crawling, indexing, JSON schema markup, Core Web Vitals, and site architecture (correct H1 usage, heading hierarchy, URL and page structure), including diagnosing and fixing indexing and crawlability issues.
- Work directly with developers to implement technical changes on our website while posting content in a user-friendly CMS.
- Organize your work in a project management system.
- Measure performance in analytics platforms and deliver monthly reports on performance, keyword movement, traffic, conversions, and ongoing initiatives.
Requirements
- Minimum 5 years of hands-on SEO experience.
- A portfolio with demonstrable ranking wins. You must be able to show specific keywords or pages you moved and the results you produced.
- Experience with SEO related tools such as SEMrush, Ahrefs, Screaming Frog, etc.
- Strong technical SEO fundamentals. You understand what it means to index a page, how crawling works, JSON schema, Core Web Vitals, and basic site architecture (e.g., a single H1 first, correct heading order).
- Proficiency with Google Analytics, familiarity with a CMS, and experience working directly with developers to ship technical SEO changes.
- Strong writing abilities, plus experience with the latest AI tooling to enhance and speed up your writing while keeping a consistent style and quality.
- B2B SEO experience preferred.
