Position Summary
As a Dog Trainer/Handler, you'll be responsible for the daily care, supervision, enrichment, and training of dogs participating in our Day School, Boarding, and Training programs. You'll work directly with dogs of all ages, breeds, and personalities while helping maintain a calm, structured, and safe environment.
This position is ideal for someone who enjoys both hands-on dog handling and continuing to develop their training skills.
Responsibilities
- Safely supervise structured playgroups and dog interactions
- Train dogs using ZenDog's training methods and philosophy
- Practice and reinforce obedience skills and good manners throughout the day
- Conduct enrichment activities and confidence-building exercises
- Safely leash, handle, and move dogs throughout the facility
- Monitor dog health, behavior, and body language
- Clean kennels, play yards, and facility areas to maintain a sanitary environment
- Feed, medicate (when needed), and care for boarding dogs
- Communicate professionally with clients regarding their dogs' progress
- Take photos and videos for client updates
- Work as part of a supportive team to provide exceptional care
Qualifications
- Experience working with dogs is preferred, but we are willing to train the right person.
- Excellent communication and customer service skills
- Comfortable handling dogs of various sizes and temperaments
- Ability to read canine body language or willingness to learn
- Reliable, punctual, and detail-oriented
- Positive attitude with a strong work ethic
- Able to work in a fast-paced environment while remaining calm
- Must be able to lift 50 pounds and spend most of the day standing, walking, bending, and working outdoors in various weather conditions.

Pay is based on experience and qualifications.
