In this on-site, contract role, you will bring our cosmic matchmaking experiences to life, creating an inviting, high-energy environment where guests feel welcome, comfortable, and excited to connect.
You will manage event check-ins, guide guests through their compatibility-matching activities, coordinate schedules, and partner with venue staff to ensure seamless seating, timing, and hospitality service for our signature cocktail mixers, coffee mixers, and speed dating events.
This is a dynamic, highly flexible contract role ideal for freelance coordinators, hospitality professionals, and outgoing community builders who thrive in fast-paced social environments.
Key Responsibilities:- Guest Experience: Warmly greet attendees, manage check-ins using our proprietary platform, and guide guests through the evening's icebreakers and matching schedules.
- Event Operations: Coordinate the timing, rotation, and flow of our speed dating sessions or social mixers (cocktail and coffee), keeping the energy upbeat, punctual, and on-schedule.
- Venue Collaboration: Partner with local venue staff (cafes, lounges, and bars) to manage table layouts, seating arrangements, and coordinate food and beverage service.
- On-Brand Setup: Set up and break down aesthetic, on-brand event materials and signage to maintain TheLoveStar’s premium visual identity.
- Community Advocacy: Answer guest inquiries, promote upcoming local events, and assist in onboarding and training new local hosts as our community expands.
- Feedback Loop: Gather and report structured feedback from attendees after each event to help our product and operations teams continually elevate the guest experience.
- Exceptional Communication & Customer Service: Natural charisma, warmth, and the ability to command a room, facilitate transitions smoothly, and make every guest feel seen and included.
- Hospitality & Event Experience: Prior experience hosting speed dating events, social mixers, upscale hospitality, high-end cafes, or nightlife environments is highly beneficial.
- Operational Adaptability: Strong organizational and multitasking skills to manage logistics smoothly in a busy, fast-paced setting.
- Sales & Training Mindset: Comfort explaining our astrological concepts, encouraging guests to sign up for future events on the app, and mentoring incoming event staff.
- Food & Beverage Coordination: Foundational understanding of venue operations (both day-time cafes and evening lounges) to coordinate easily with baristas, bartenders, and managers.
- Flexible Schedule: Availability to work evenings and weekends as required by the local event calendar.
- Brand Alignment: A passion for community building, social connection, and an appreciation for (or curiosity about) astrology and matchmaking.
- Education: High school diploma or equivalent required; advanced education in hospitality management, communications, or public relations is a major plus.
- Employment Status: Independent Contractor (1099).
- Time Commitment: Extremely flexible, part-time hours based on the volume of local scheduled events and your availability.
- Schedule: Events (coffee mixers, cocktail mixers, and speed dating) are typically scheduled on weeknights and weekends. You can accept or decline event hosting shifts based on your personal availability. This role is paid on a competitive flat per-event rate (with opportunities for performance bonuses based on event attendance and registration goals).
