Zeitgeist Coffee is seeking a friendly, dependable, and customer-focused Cashier to support daily coffee shop operations. This role involves welcoming customers, taking food and beverage orders, processing payments, answering basic questions about menu items, and helping maintain a clean and organized service area. Key Responsibilities
- Welcome customers and provide friendly, professional service
- Take coffee, beverage, and food orders accurately
- Operate the POS system and process cash and card payments
- Answer basic questions about coffee, beverages, food items, and café offerings
- Confirm order details and communicate customer requests clearly with café team members
- Provide receipts and assist with dine-in, pickup, and takeout orders
- Keep the register, counter, and customer-service areas clean and organized
- Restock cups, lids, bags, napkins, utensils, and other café supplies
- Assist baristas and coworkers with routine café duties during busy periods
- Help maintain smooth customer and order flow throughout the shift
- Support opening, closing, and other daily café responsibilities
- Follow cash-handling, food-safety, sanitation, and workplace procedures
Qualifications
- Previous cashier, café, coffee shop, restaurant, retail, or customer-service experience is helpful
- Friendly and professional approach to customer service
- Strong communication and teamwork skills
- Reliable, punctual, and responsible
- Good attention to detail and transaction accuracy
- Comfortable working in a fast-paced customer-facing environment
