We are looking for a passionate, creative, and adaptable professional who thrives in a collaborative environment and is driven by innovation. If you have a solutions-oriented mindset and a commitment to advancing medical technology through exceptional design and implementation, this role is perfect for you. As a Signal Processing & Algorithms Engineer specializing in Optical Coherence Tomography (OCT), you will leverage your engineering expertise to develop, optimize, and implement algorithms to convert raw optical interference data into high-resolution 2D and 3D images that consistently exceed customer expectations. You will spearhead interdisciplinary projects of varying complexity, ensuring that deliverables meet specifications, timelines, and budgetary targets. Your work will encompass the design, optimization, and validation OCT signal processing and image reconstruction algorithms. Sound Interesting? Here’s what you’ll do: Cross-Functional Collaboration: Partner closely with colleagues in R&D, manufacturing, quality, purchasing, and marketing to achieve project objectives and deliver high‑value solutions. Data Acquisition & Signal Processing: Continuously enhance phase‑sensitive OCT algorithms to convert raw interferograms from photodetectors into high‑fidelity anatomical images (e.g., background removal, resampling, dispersion compensation, sensitivity optimization, artefact suppression) and functional vibrometry measurements (e.g., segmentation, time-series and frequency-domain analyses, modelling). Develop analysis pipelines to compute image quality figures of merit. Real-time Optimization: Drive development efforts from proof-of-concept through optimization for robust, real-time execution on production hardware in the field. Documentation and Testing: Create and maintain comprehensive technical documentation, including requirements, design descriptions, protocols, work instructions, and release notes. Project Management: Contribute in project planning and execution, including timeline and cost estimations. Verification and Validation: Support the verification and validation of both hardware and software designs to ensure performance, safety, and compliance. Interdisciplinary Coordination: Collaborate with mechanical, electrical, and software engineering, as well as project and product management, purchasing, manufacturing, quality, and marketing teams. External Interaction: Engage with vendors, distributors, manufacturers, and regulatory bodies, as required. Do you qualify? Educational Background: Degree in software engineering, physics, computer science, or related field (advanced degree preferred). Professional Experience: Minimum of five years in a signal processing-focused role, ideally in OCT, optical/computational imaging, or related medical imaging field. Technical Expertise: Strong appreciation for well-specified and documented algorithms. Background in test and behaviour-driven development.
