What are the responsibilities and job description for the Experienced Diesel Mechanic/Heavy Equipment Mechanic position at Zeigler Tree?
Zeigler Tree & Timber is now hiring qualified experienced Diesel Mechanic/Heavy Equipment.
Position Summary: Perform repair and maintenance work on diesel and non-diesel equipment and trucks including, but not limited to hydraulic systems, electrical, air brake systems, general engine work, HVAC components, suspension, drive train, tires, and steering systems. May also include welding and fabrication.
Responsibilities/ Job Functions:
· Diagnoses mechanical problems and performs repairs and maintenance on all equipment to maximize safe and productive operations. Reviews and completes repairs identified on DVIR (Driver Vehicle Inspection Report) and/or repair orders
· Communicates with managers/drivers as to issues with vehicles and discusses preventive techniques that minimize future repairs
· Completes all required paperwork in a timely and concise manner
· Follows all safety policies and procedures
· Maintains a clean, safe work area in compliance with corporate and OSHA standards
· Utilizes vehicle computer electronics systems to interpret failure modes to initiate or assign repairs
· Conducts safety checks on vehicles and equipment
· Conducts repairs utilizing Factory Service Manuals
· Maintain high standard of Ethics and Dependability
· Perform on-site and on-road repairs as needed
Job Type: Full-time
Pay: From $30.00 per hour
Experience:
- Diesel engine repair: 2 years (Required)
- Mechanical knowledge: 2 years (Required)
