Position: Security Officer
Reports to: Assistant Director of Security
Function: Under the direction of the Director and Assistant Director of Security, the security officer will help maintain a safe environment for all guests and employees.
Work Performed:
– Noise complaints
– Smoking violations
– Missing and lost children
– Family troubles
– Crimes in progress
– Crime reports
- Patrol the exterior and interior of company facilities looking for safety and security issues.
- Respond to calls for security service including, but not limited to:
– Noise complaints
– Smoking violations
– Missing and lost children
– Family troubles
– Crimes in progress
– Crime reports
- Respond to emergency situations
- Enforce company rules, regulations, and policies
- Conduct investigations and surveillance
- Document all security action in the form of case logs and/or case reports
- Testify in court
- Create positive interaction with guests and staff to promote the “community policing” philosophy
- Assist or facilitate assistance to guests who have questions, needs or concerns
- Other unspecified tasks as it relates to security and safety
Physical Requirements:
- Must be at least 18 years of age
- Ability to sit and/or stand for long periods of time
- Ability to push, pull and lift 50 pounds
Education Requirements:
– Prior security experience
– Possess an associates or bachelor’s degree in a Criminal Justice related field
– Currently enrolled in a Criminal Justice related college curriculum.
- High school diploma or equivalent
- Meet one or more of the following:
– Prior security experience
– Possess an associates or bachelor’s degree in a Criminal Justice related field
– Currently enrolled in a Criminal Justice related college curriculum.
Other Requirements:
- Must possess a high level of character, integrity and professionalism
- Ability to interact with guests on a regular basis with high customer service standards
- Ability to work in a fast pace, high stress work environment
- Must be able to work weekends, holidays, and varied shifts (including 3rd shift)
- Must be able to pass First Aid and CPR certifications
