What are the responsibilities and job description for the Retail Bakery Clerk position at Zehnder's of Frankenmuth?
Function: Maintain a clean and attractive bakery cooler and assist guests in getting any products they need.
Work Performed:
1. Stocking and merchandising the Retail Bakery shelves with signature baked goods.
2. Thorough knowledge of Zehnder’s products, ingredients, how the products are made, and what the price points are on each item.
3. Maintain a sanitary work area in accordance with the guidelines issued by the Saginaw County Health Department.
4. Maintain a clean and orderly department by adhering to a scheduled routine of cleaning and sweeping, wiping of counters and glass front cases, stocking shelves as directed and when business is slow.
5. Maintain attractive “sampler” containers for guests tasting, offering samples, and encouraging guests to taste while explaining the products to them.
6. Interacting with guests at free standing demo stations set-up for sampling during peak business periods.
7. Answer phone calls in area/assists guests with phone inquiries in a courteous and helpful manner.
8. Assist Retail Manager in doing start-of-day/end-of-day functions including leftover bread inventory sheets.
9. Performs other duties as assigned by the Retail Bakery Manager.
Physical Requirements: Must be able to stand on feet for extended periods of time. Lift minimum of 15 lbs. Work in high volume environment.
Other Requirements: Available to work nights, weekends, and holidays.
Age Requirement: Must be 16 years of age or older.
