What are the responsibilities and job description for the Dining Room Host/Hostess position at Zehnder's of Frankenmuth?
Function: Responsible for directing and supervising the operation of the Dining Room; ensures that ideal dining environment is maintained.
Work Performed:
1. Greets the customer entering the Dining Room and seats them at their table.
2. Assists in the Dining Room preparation activities by:
a. Placing reservations and distributing the parties.
b. Inspecting the Dining Room for cleanliness and personally resolving any deficiency.
c. Maintaining knowledge of waitress’ table assignments.
d. Ensuring that music, lights, room temperature are conducive to a pleasant atmosphere.
3. Assists the waitresses in the performance of their Dining Room duties duringbusy periods.
4. Cleans tables of remaining dishes and food after party has left the table and setup tables during peak business periods.
5. Ensures that the host/hostess service standards are completed 100% of the time.
6. Always maintains clean and sanitary dining room.
7. Works in a safe manner always and eliminates or reports unsafe conditions when necessary.
8. Reacts to customer emergencies by contacting the manager on duty.
9. Performs other duties as assigned or directed.
10. When seating guest should suggestively sell beverage & dessert specials.
11. Must anticipate guests needs, highchair, booster, crayons, etc.
12. Maintain knowledge of what is available within your assigned dining room.
13. Must be present at front of lobby/dining room when line exists to take names on the standard pad, name, preference, number of people.
14. Any other tasks or duties assigned by management.
Physical Requirements: Must be able to walk and stand for extended periods of time. Work in high volume environment.
Educational Requirements: High School Diploma or equivalent.
Other Requirements: Available to work nights, weekends, and holidays.
Age Requirement: Must be 16 years of age or older.
