ZEAM Medical Group is a multidisciplinary practice seeking a highly qualified, personable individual for our Medical Assistant / Medical Front Desk Receptionist role. This is a team‑based position working closely with your peers.
Job Responsibilities
- Room patients efficiently, including obtaining accurate vitals, medication lists, allergies, and chief complaints.
- Prep charts prior to visits, ensuring labs, imaging, referrals, and prior authorizations are available for provider review.
- Assist providers with basic clinical tasks and maintain clean, stocked exam rooms.
- Greet and assist patients in person and over the phone with professionalism and warmth.
- Schedule appointments, manage provider calendars, and support smooth patient flow.
- Check patients in and out, verify demographics, and update personal and financial information.
- Verify insurance eligibility, understand benefits, and coordinate care with secondary insurances.
- Obtain and track prior authorizations; read and interpret EOBs.
- Collect copays, balances, and patient charges; assist with third‑party claim processing.
- Maintain accurate patient records and ensure treatment information is readily accessible in a paperless EMR.
- Respond to patient inquiries, resolve concerns, and support patients experiencing anxiety or distress.
- Maintain reception and clinical areas, monitor inventory, and assist with ordering supplies.
- Follow all practice policies and procedures and contribute to a positive, team‑oriented environment.
Qualifications
- Minimum 2 years recent experience in a medical office setting (front desk, MA).
- Strong understanding of insurance benefits, eligibility verification, and prior authorizations.
- Experience working in a paperless EMR environment.
- Excellent communication, multitasking, and customer‑service skills.
- High attention to detail and ability to work in a fast‑paced clinical setting.
- Ability to maintain confidentiality of medical, personal, and financial information.
Job Type: Full-time
Pay: $20.00 - $22.00 per hour
