Platform Architect | Hybrid
Location: Northfield/Northbrook, IL
We’re looking for a Platform/Infrastructure Architect to lead the modernization of our enterprise ecommerce platform. You’ll guide the transition from a legacy Oracle ATG system to a modern Azure, Spring Boot microservices, and Next.js MFE ecosystem.
What You’ll Do
- Define cloud-native infrastructure architecture for microservices & MFEs.
- Lead Azure design: networking, compute, storage, security, observability.
- Build IaC using Terraform/Bicep/ARM.
- Drive CI/CD strategy with GitHub Actions / Azure DevOps.
- Support containerization: Docker, Kubernetes (AKS), Helm.
- Embed Zero Trust, RBAC, encryption & compliance.
- Ensure HA, DR, scaling, and cost optimization.
- Partner with app, frontend, DevOps & security teams.
What You Bring
- 8 years infra/cloud architecture; 3 years Azure.
- Strong Azure services experience (App Services, AKS, VNets, KV, Storage).
- Microservices infrastructure expertise (Spring Boot).
- Familiarity with Next.js or other React MFEs.
- Experience modernizing legacy/Oracle ATG systems.
- IaC expertise (Terraform/Bicep/ARM).
- Strong cloud security & Kubernetes skills.
Nice to Have
- Ecommerce modernization experience.
- Service mesh/API gateway knowledge.
- Observability tools (Azure Monitor, Prometheus, Grafana).
- Azure Architect certification.
