Your new position
As IT Lab Systems Engineer, the position serves as the primary IT resource for Zealand Pharma’s laboratory environment in Cambridge, Massachusetts. The role acts as a key interface between Research labs and the global IT organization, ensuring lab systems are sourced, implemented, supported, and continuously improved. With a strong focus on data security, compliance, and user experience, the position helps research teams stay productive while protecting critical data and systems.

We Offer Exciting Responsibilities
- Act as the key interface between Research labs and the IT organization, ensuring alignment on priorities and solutions
- Oversee sourcing, installation, configuration, and maintenance of lab IT systems (hardware and software) in collaboration with Research and IT (Infrastructure & Security)
- Develop, together with Research, Infrastructure, Cloud, and Security, robust approaches for data retention, data security, and data restoration per system
- Establish performance monitoring approaches with Infrastructure and implement improvements to enhance reliability and efficiency
- Manage and document lab IT asset inventory and plan future lab IT needs together with Research
- Own vendor management for lab systems, including coordination, follow-up, and service quality

- Strong knowledge of lab IT systems (hardware and software) and end-to-end system lifecycle management
- Experience managing and securing large volumes of data, ensuring integrity, retention, and recoverability
- Solid understanding of cybersecurity risks and controls relevant to laboratory IT environments
- Demonstrated ability to manage IT projects (e.g., upgrades, implementations), delivering on time and within scope
- Ability to troubleshoot and resolve incidents efficiently, with strong documentation practices for systems and processes
- Familiarity with Microsoft Windows environments and enterprise tooling (e.g., Microsoft Active Directory, Microsoft Entra ID, Microsoft Intune), networking basics, and patching (a plus)
