Job Summary
We are seeking a motivated and dependable Driver to join our logistics team! Duties
- Operate a variety of commercial vehicles including tractor-trailers, flatbeds, refrigerated trailers, tankers, dump trucks, roll-off trucks, and other specialized trucks in compliance with FMCSA (Federal Motor Carrier Safety Administration) and DOT (Department of Transportation) regulations
- Safely load and unload freight using manual handling techniques and equipment such as forklifts when necessary
- Navigate routes efficiently using GPS navigation systems to meet delivery schedules
- Transport hazardous materials and dangerous goods following all hazardous materials regulations and safety protocols
- Conduct pre-trip and post-trip inspections to ensure vehicle safety, including checking for mechanical issues and proper documentation
- Maintain accurate logs of driving hours, cargo details, and delivery records in compliance with FMCSA regulations
- Communicate effectively with dispatchers and clients regarding delivery status or any issues encountered during routes
Experience
- Proven experience as a professional driver with a focus on commercial truck driving or logistics cargo handling
- Familiarity with operating manual transmission vehicles and various truck types such as tractor-trailers, flatbeds, tankers, refrigerated trailers, dump trucks, or roll-off trucks
- Knowledge of DOT (Department of Transportation) regulations related to hours of service, vehicle safety inspections, and hazardous materials handling
- Experience with route driving using GPS navigation systems for efficient delivery planning
- Ability to perform manual handling tasks safely when loading or unloading freight
- Prior delivery driver experience preferred but not required; training will be provided for specific equipment or procedures as needed
