We are seeking a highly skilled and motivated Diesel Mechanic to join our dynamic maintenance team. Responsibilities
- Perform comprehensive diagnostics on diesel engines, transmissions, hydraulics, air brakes, suspension systems, and other heavy equipment components using schematics and advanced diagnostic tools.
- Conduct repairs and maintenance on diverse machinery such as excavators, cranes, forklifts, farm machinery, industrial equipment, tractor-trailers, and automotive vehicles.
- Utilize hand tools, power tools, welding equipment, soldering irons, and fabrication techniques to assemble, repair, or modify parts and systems.
- Inspect and service vehicle systems including brakes, shocks & struts, HVAC systems, wheel alignment, tire service, and electrical components to ensure safety compliance and optimal operation.
- Maintain detailed service records documenting repairs performed, parts used, and diagnostics results for accountability and future reference.
- Collaborate with team members to troubleshoot complex mechanical issues efficiently while adhering to safety standards.
- Assist in heavy lifting tasks and perform routine inspections to prevent equipment failures before they occur.
Experience
- Proven mechanic experience with a focus on diesel engines and heavy equipment repair in a dealership or industrial setting.
- Strong knowledge of automotive diagnostics combined with hands-on experience in fabrication, welding, soldering, and assembly work.
- Familiarity with schematics for electrical systems and hydraulic diagrams is essential for accurate troubleshooting.
- Experience operating heavy machinery such as excavators, cranes, forklifts, or similar equipment is highly desirable.
- Demonstrated ability to perform vehicle maintenance including brake repair, transmission work, suspension adjustments, HVAC servicing and tire replacement.
- Knowledge of safety protocols related to air brake systems and heavy lifting procedures.
- Ability to use power tools effectively while maintaining a high standard of quality workmanship.
- Excellent mechanical knowledge complemented by strong customer service skills to communicate effectively with clients or team members.
