Zayo is seeking a Revenue Retention & Data Science Intern to drive revenue retention initiatives through a balanced combination of business process optimization and applied data science. This role will identify process gaps impacting customer retention and develop machine learning–based analytical prototypes to improve decision-making.
Our Revenue Retention & Data Science Intern will work cross-functionally with commercial and operational stakeholders to translate data insights into measurable retention strategies. Deliverables will include validated analytical models and actionable business recommendations.

Responsibilities:
- Analyze customer and revenue data to identify drivers of churn and retention risk.
- Evaluate and enhance the existing churn prediction model by improving feature engineering, model performance, and business interpretability.
- Map and assess commercial workflows to uncover process gaps impacting revenue retention.
- Quantify the financial impact of identified inefficiencies and retention opportunities.
- Develop and validate machine learning prototypes (e.g., churn refinement, segmentation, forecasting) to support retention strategy.
- Leverage existing generative AI tools to automate, streamline, or integrate retention-related workflows (e.g., insight summarization, account prioritization, stakeholder reporting).
- Applicants must have completed their sophomore year and be enrolled in a degree or certificate seeking program for the fall semester of 2026.
- Strong foundation in supervised and unsupervised learning techniques.
- Experience building and validating models in Python (e.g., scikit-learn, XGBoost, similar frameworks).
- Solid understanding of statistics, model evaluation metrics, and feature engineering.
- Proficiency in SQL and structured data analysis.
- Ability to translate technical findings into business strategy recommendations.
- Strong analytical thinking and communication skills.

Salary : $23 - $25
