Job Title: Yard JockeyHours Required: 2 pm to 10:30 pm with OT, weekends, and coverage for other shifts as required.Position Description: This position drives a tractor-trailer to move all materials required to and from production plant and warehouses. The position follows standard work methods and practices safe work habits to ensure drivers are operating as efficient and safe as possible. Key Duties & Responsibilities:Keeps empty trailers at production docks available for loading product off the linesMoves trailers from production docks to warehouse docksAnnounces the arrival of a transfer trailer to the warehouse using the proper form of communicatioJockeys trailers throughout plant, warehouses and yardsMakes local customer deliveries and acts as occasional fleet driver back upPick up at local area vendors as requiredChecks and maintains fuel and oil levels in all trailer reefers and reports any malfunctions or maintenance required to supervisorAssists in loading, unloading, pallet sorting or any other jobs as instructed by supervisorRequires flexible maneuverability to operate trucks, tractors, lift trucks and pallet jacksCommunicates with Supervisors, Material Handlers, and Fork Lift Operators to assure proper movement of trailers throughout the plant and warehouseComplies with all procedures following an accidentCompletes all required paperwork as assigned, including the Driver Truck Tracker Trailer Inspection Report and Food Safety Management SystemRequired to pick up Fleet drivers on the roadMaintains regular, predictable attendanceOther duties as assigned Requirements:High school diploma or GEDEffective written and verbal communication skillsBasic mechanical aptitudeAbility to speak, read, write and comprehend EnglishCDL class A license and forklift license2 years tractor trailer driving experience
