$40,000–$45,000 depending on experience.

About the Role

A well-established, 40-person Birmingham law firm is looking for a Litigation Clerk to support a high-volume creditor-side litigation practice. If you have experience in collections, debt recovery, or legal support and you take pride in accuracy and follow-through, this role is built for you.

This is a production-oriented position where your attention to detail directly impacts case outcomes. You’ll work alongside experienced attorneys and paralegals in a structured, process-driven environment with clear expectations and strong team support from day one.

What You’ll Do

· Prepare, review, and file legal documents – including pleadings, summonses, affidavits, and court filings – with precision

· Communicate professionally with courts, employers, garnishees, and internal teams via phone and email

· Track and follow up on case deadlines, court dockets, and outstanding tasks

· Calculate figures for litigation documents, including post-judgment interest, fees, and court costs

· Document all case activity thoroughly in our case management system

· Manage a large case portfolio with consistency, prioritizing accuracy and timeliness

· Collaborate with attorneys, paralegals, and support staff across departments

What We’re Looking For

Required:

· 1 year of experience in collections, debt recovery, creditor-side legal work, or a high-volume legal support role

· Strong attention to detail – you catch errors before they become problems

· Professional written and verbal communication skills

· Proficiency in Microsoft Office (Word, Outlook, Excel)

· Ability to manage a high-volume workload and meet deadlines consistently

· Dependable, punctual, and self-motivated

Preferred:

· Familiarity with court filing procedures, docketing, or case management software

· Experience in a law firm, collections agency, or financial services environment

· Comfort calculating interest, fees, or similar financial figures
